Adding additional users with limited permissions (Manage team)

An update that has been highly requested. It is now possible to create new cPanel users who do not have access to all hosting service functions. For example, a web developer does not need access to your email accounts. Access to files and databases is sufficient for them. Such users can now be created under the "Manage team" button.

PHP X-Ray App

PHP X-Ray acts like a virtual detective, allowing you to monitor and analyze PHP processes in real-time. This gives website owners – especially those using content management systems like WordPress, Joomla, or Drupal – the ability to identify the causes of page slowness.

Since the analysis takes place while the PHP script is running and on the same server, this is the best way to get an overview of the problems. You cannot get such a good overview with any external software found on the internet.

In addition to slow PHP processes, slow database queries are also identified, which can then be optimized.

Resource usage improved - notifications coming.

The "Resource usage" tool found in cPanel has been updated. From the homepage, you can immediately see if your hosting account has exceeded any limits in the last 24 hours. "Current usage" provides a precise overview of processor, memory, and process usage for the time period you are interested in. This is a good tool for discovering and diagnosing website performance issues.

While currently information can only be obtained by using this tool, in the near future, the automation will also start notifying account owners who exceed limits via email about problems.

Webmail MFA

Hackers are constantly coming up with new methods to steal or crack your email account password.

• You use a public WiFi network that malicious actors are eavesdropping on
• You use an easily guessable password
• You log in to your mailbox in a public place and your password is filmed

However the password was leaked, the damage can be very significant. A hacker can gain access to all accounts associated with that email address by clicking the "Forgot password" button.

Fortunately, our web hosting now has the capability for multi-factor authentication. This means that in addition to the password, access to your phone, which generates an additional code for each login, is required to log in to the account.

Multi-factor authentication can be enabled in cPanel for each email account separately. Click the "Check email" button next to the specific email account. On the screen that opens, you will find the "Two-Factor Authentication" button. If you have previously checked the box "Open my Inbox when I log in", you will go directly to the Roundcube application. To go back to the settings page, click the bottom-most button "Webmail Home" in the left column there.

Currently, multi-factor authentication is only enabled on our WEB5 server. This support will be extended to hosting accounts on all other servers in the near future.   

Calendars and Contacts Sharing

The functionality of calendars and address books has been enhanced with the ability to share them within the organization. The Calendars and Contacts Sharing interface allows you to set access rights to a user's calendar(s) or address book(s) for other users. This is useful for managing other users' calendars or resources, such as meeting rooms. It is also possible to create a company-wide contact list.

Email Deliverability - DMARC setup added.

Nearly half of the emails circulating in the world are spam, and many different technologies are used to combat it. To ensure that our own sent emails reach the recipient, the emails must be configured according to best practices. The "Email Deliverability" option in cPanel helps to do this perfectly. It was already possible to set up DKIM, SPF, and PTR with a few clicks there. Now, DMARC has also been added. Even if these acronyms mean nothing to you, you should definitely use these technologies. For fresh hosting accounts, this is done automatically; for older ones, it is worth checking the DMARC part just in case and enabling it if necessary.

While we are talking about email setup, you might also want to check out the "Track Delivery" and "MailScanner" options. If you have problems with email delivery in the future, these tools will give you a good initial overview of where and why emails might have been blocked.
