What is Application Launchpad?
App Launchpad is an additional functionality of VMware Cloud Director that opens an environment of applications validated by VMware to end users. VMware Marketplace applications are displayed to the end customer in the App Launchpad user interface, including applications preconfigured by Bitnami by VMware, for which there are also detailed user guides on the Bitnami by VMware website.

Starting a virtual machine application in App Launchpad is easy and fast. First, find a suitable application in the built-in search engine and press Launch. Enter the name of the application and press Launch Application. If necessary, the application settings can also be configured before starting (location, IP addresses, network, firewall, startup script, etc.).
Launching container applications in App Launchpad is also easy and fast. First, find a suitable application in the built-in search engine and press Launch. Application name, number of replications and network type must be entered. In addition, connect to the desired Kubernetes cluster and the new application is deployed. If necessary, the application settings can also be changed using the YAML editor before launching.
In the App Launchpad, operating system templates are immediately visible under Featured Applications (including newer Win2022 and Ubuntu22 servers). VMware Marketplace applications and operating system templates can also be viewed by the customer on the Libraries page of their Cloud Director, where they can also find a suitable application or template through a quick search.
